Music Producing

Many don’t realize the work involved in creating a song. To keep it simple there’s two sides of work, the artist and the producer. To create beats its actually just as simple to pick up like photography or other hobbies. Obviously you’re going to need some equipment, but all you really need is a midi keyboard, a laptop, and a DAW (which is just the software used to for structuring and creating the instrumental). When I started making beats, I started with my apple laptop, I installed Logic Pro X for $199.99 (an upgraded garage band), and I bought a two octave midi keyboard for $100. All in it may appear expensive, but those three tools are all you need.

There’s also ways to find beats and producers for the artists sake. Websites like YouTube and Beatstars are great for finding beats and producers who regularly release beats for purchase. Yes you need to buy the beats. Most the time you can receive the beat as a free download, but that’s strictly for writing and creating a demo for a song. I like Beatstars because there are no ads that cause interruptions and it’s like an Amazon but for instrumentals. It’s very easy to use and many people are gravitating towards this market especially if you're confident in your producing talent.

One song that blew up off a YouTube beat was the song Valentino by: 24kgolden. The beat was produced by Blackmayo who is very well known on YouTube.
